NARA
11/01
We took an 1-hour train trip to Nara, one of the most popular visitor destinations in Japan. Todaiji Temple is a home to the 2nd largest Buddha in the country. Knowing how quickly these historic sites can get overcrowded with visitors, we started our day early, which left us with ample time to enjoy Osaka again in the afternoon. Stew was on a mission to purchase Japanese knives, so we hit the Doguyasuji (Kitchen Tools District) in Namba, which ended with one happy customer! Mike and Masami too found a few things in the district, including some souvenirs for Mike and a cute apron for Masami. We satisfied our cravings for pizza and pasta at a fun restaurant in the district, followed by more street food in Kuromon Market.
